Fouad I (1868-1936) was first sultan and then king of Egypt following his independence in 1922, it was during his reign that the tomb of Tutankhamun was discovered.

HISTORY :

Fouad I (1868-1936) was Sultan (1917-1922) and then King of Egypt (1922-1936). This coin is part of the first series of Egyptian coins featuring the bust of an Egyptian monarch, produced in 1923.
