Description: Portrait of Napoleon the Third laureated and facing right

Title: NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR.

REVERSE :

Description: 50 FR. On either side of an eagle encircled by the collar of the Legion of Honour, superimposed on two sceptres (Hand of Justice and Sceptre of Charlemagne) and resting on a tapestry decorated with ermine spots on the inside and bees on the outside.

The whole surmounted by an imperial crown from which two ribbons extend; below, the date 1864 and the mint mark A to the left.
