OBVERSE :

A tiger, fearless and standing on a spike, its jaws open to reveal razor-sharp canines.

The design also includes the inscription "TIGER 2022", the Chinese character for "tiger" and the Perth Mint's mintmark "P".

REVERSE :

The reverse of the coin features the bust of Queen Elizabeth II in profile, the weight and fineness of the coin and its denomination.

First issued in 1995, the Australian Lunar series celebrates the animals of the Chinese lunar calendar (Zodiac). For 12 years, the years of the mouse, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog and pig follow in turn.

2022 is the year of the Tiger highlighted on this new gold coin. A symbol of determination, courage, confidence and charm, it corresponds to people born in 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010 and 2022.
