PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The type "sower" was created in 1897 by Oscar Roty and was immediately used for silver coins. It was later reused on coins when the government switch to the new franc, hence the creation of this coin. The coin was first struck on silver blanks, then following the rise of silver price on the copper-nickel blanks.
