FRENCH REPUBLIC
Sower walking draped with a Phrygian cap, spreading against the wind with a rising sun behind. It is signed O. Roty.
Liberty Equality Fraternity. 1 Francs over an olive branch and an oak branch, below is the year.
The type "sower" was created in 1897 by Oscar Roty and was immediately used for silver coins. It was later reused on coins when the government switch to the new franc, hence the creation of this coin. The coin was first struck on silver blanks, then following the rise of silver price on the copper-nickel blanks.
The years and/or effigies of these coins are sent randomly depending on our stocks.
As these are bullion coins and not collector coins, their years or effigies have no impact on their value or resale price.
